This week we chat to the clever designer of handmade kids clothing and accessories label Alfie by Kobi.
‘Alfie’ has long been a favourite at TVM, and we’re pretty sure just about every child on the Coast has at least one of the labels cute bandana bibs in their wardrobe! Kobi is super creative, always has a smile on her face and her latest Summer collection is to die for.

What do you listen to while getting crafty?
A lot of the time to be honest its the Wiggles! After the 1000x I still don’t mind it and it’s actually kinda fun to sew along to! It never gets old with Harvi either so for now that’s a good thing!
A day in the life of you consists of:
Cuddles and avo toast with Harvi on the couch, a walk to Barefoot Barrista (cafe) for a coffee and baby chino if I’m lucky, house duties, Harvi has a nap and this is my big opportunity to sew as much as possible, when she’s awake I like to get us out of the house so maybe go visit my Gran or a friend, come home and sort dinner and bath time etc, Jesse (husband) gets home and we try sit down at the dinner table together and hang out the three of us, Harvi goes to bed and I go to the sewing room!!!
Favourite TVM stall (besides yours of course):
Shikoba Delicates! I may be biased as Teena is a very close friend of mine (well sister-in-law really), however she makes such beautiful, quality and original pieces with recycled feathers, driftwood and skulls. Check her out!!

To be honest I’m not really up to date with blogs as I have up until recently had the slowest internet/computer in the world, but one blog I always read without a doubt is my friend Lori’s ‘EightTenTen‘. She writes so beautifully and she truly inspires me every time I do.
What new pieces are you working on at the moment and what can we expect from Alfie in the future:
At the moment I am working on some girls mob caps, head scarves, new jumpsuits, boys sun hats and possibly something else for the boys just still playing around with the design!

Such an amazing day at TVM last Sunday!
A fun filled breakfast and shopping with a bunch of gorgeous ladies was a highlight and the amazing healthy nachos from new food stall Magic Bean, really topped it off for me. I can’t wait for the next one!

After what seemed like forever between TVMs, I was hanging to hit the shops (so to say!) on Sunday with a few items on my wish list.
First up, two Alfie by Kobi girls Bandana bibs for an expecting friend. 2 for $24.
A cute handmade heart cushion (that I’d been eyeing off for ages) from Hattie $25.
And an amazing handcrafted cheese board by Millie (various prices).
So, I think I ate my weight in food this Sunday at TVM! Did anyone else try the Apple Strudel breakkie pizza by Crusta? OMG, so good! We’re loving the introduction of some delish food and good coffee to TVM of late and it seems to keep our shoppers happy too.

Well, despite it being a ‘sweat fest’ at yesterdays TVM, it was another amazing day on the shopping front and I also had fun snapping some seriously stylish shoppers (stay tuned for our Style Snaps!).
I was budget conscious yesterday, so I just picked up some cute little bits and pieces. Here’s my stash, all for a grand total of $25!
- Cute little pom-pom thingy from Miss Spent, $5
- Little jug for my house from Reinvented Treasures, $10
- Necklace made by the Masaai women in Africa for $10, with 100% of profits going back to the community, thanks to Born out of LOVE & Wear Social.
- The amazing Melanie Tjoeng kindly gave me another one of her beautiful photo’s as a gift at the end of the day. I am a massive fan of her work and already have one similar in my home. Thanks Mel xx
- Not included in this photo was a cute bonnet from Alfie by Kobi, $25 and an amazing bunch of flowers (another pressie) from the gorgeous Twahn at Small Stall.
My TVM shopping spree was a little different this time around, I stocked up on items for my home and a little something for the loves of my life. I’m pretty happy with the result, here’s what I got…
I mentioned in my last post that I was lusting after the new LoveBird home collection, so I managed to pickup some cushions yesterday! This one pictured is perfect for my peacock chair (a recent e-bay find!).
I also promised I was heading straight to The Porcelain Tree for a recycled timber A-Frame/cookbook stand. I love how it looks in my kitchen!
As a lover of displaying flowers in my home each week, I managed to grab a few bunches from Small Stall as well as this gorgeous little card – Valentines Day pressie for my husband, tick!
Last but not least, as a new mum, I am sort of obsessed with Alfie. by Kobi’s range and always pick-up a cute little number for my baby girl Stevie. These suits are so divine!
..Yes I went a little nuts yesterday, oops! I’d love to hear about all the lovely things you scored too?!
