We really loved Natalie from Pottsville’s style as she strolled through TVM on Sunday. She wore a Mohini cape and Amilita dress, available at TVM.

The sun was shining, with laughter and good vibes aplenty as I arrived to another fantastic day at The Village Markets! There was cause to celebrate as it was TVMs third birthday (congratulations ladies!) and the day showed that they’re stronger than ever. With an abundant range of new stalls and talent to browse through, I took my time searching for my five fave finds. I even had the help of some of my best friends (thanks girls!), so without further ado, here they are!
1. Amilita
It was Amilita’s first time at TVM and my was she a crowd pleaser! With a range of beautiful clothes including dresses, tops, skirts, shorts and accessories, her stall was always busy. Created by the very talented Sara, her garments express individuality and femininity for every woman. It was hard to choose just one garment from her new summer collection. After much deliberation (browsing through the racks of gorgeous garments!), I eventually went with The Shima Maxi.
This dress is handcrafted and dyed in Bali with an asymmetrical hemline and scalloping edging around the bodice, back and hemline. Made from fugette material, it can easily take you from day to night. Priced at $99 and available in camel, pale peach and black. The necklaces are also available for $65 with a range of different styles and 10% of the sale going towards a charity to help the street people of India. I know what I’ll be saving up for next market day!
2. Erin Hassall
Looking for that perfect dress for the races? Want to wear something that is on trend yet unique as well? Look no further than Erin Hassall’s maxi parachute dress! The gorgeous colours and print take colour blocking to a whole new level. Only her second time at TVM, Erin Hassall hand-makes all of her garments right here in Australia.
The dress is made from a beautiful lightweight silk fabric and features an asymmetrical hemline. Available for $99, you will be able to wear this exquisite piece again and again. Erin also makes the necklaces shown in the photo. Priced at $50, they exhibit an eclectic mix of beading, ribbons and fabric sewn into the shapes of flowers. The perfect accessory for this dress, get in quickly before it all races away!
3. Bluebird Designs
Another newcomer to the TVM family is Bluebird. Specialising in a range of jumpsuits, this stall has everything for the jumpsuit lover (I must say I am definitely one!) With the majority of items being made just south of the border in Banora Point and others being made in Bali, you can be assured that they are of the most highest quality.
I particularly love the range of Dove short leg, colourful jumpsuits. They are the perfect garment to take you from the beach to your local cafe. Made from a soft and lightweight viscose material, these cute jumpsuits are available in a range of colours and patterns. Priced at $69, I can’t wait to see them at the next TVM on the 6th of November!
4. Soy Chai Latte
I instantly fell in love with this cute tea set that are actually candles! The ‘All That Glitters’ range features teacups with saucers, a teapot, milk jug and sugar bowl all in a rustic gold finish. Organic soy wax is poured into the cups to create the candles. This particular one was French pear scented (absolutely divine if I do say so myself!) Reminiscent of years gone by, these preloved beauties now take on a whole new life.
The vintage tea set was found in an antique store in Coolangatta, with all ranges being hand-sourced from various locations. This one is $15 for each piece or $70 for the entire set. The stall also has a range of other candles in tea cups and jars, all using organic soy wax in various scents. These include sugar cookie, crème caramel, cinnamon chai tea, sweet pea vanilla, cranberry and mandarin, ripe raspberry, peach preserve and honeysuckle jasmine. They are a must to check out!
5. Archers of Grace
As you walk around TVM one trend that is prominent is that of feathers (they seemed to be everywhere on Sunday!) One of my favourite feather designs is Archers of Grace’s feather swing dress. It is one of her best selling garments and it features a digital print of feathers that look like they are floating in the breeze. All prints are self-designed and she is also now going into tie-dyeing.
Made from organic cotton and manufactured locally in the Gold Coast and Byron area, it is extremely comfortable, good for the environment and reasonably priced at $75 (could you ask for anything more!?) It also comes with a tie belt and can be worn as a dress at the beach or as a T-shirt tucked into cropped shorts. Right on trend! Don’t take this trend feather-lightly (please excuse the pun), and get into it right now!
