It was my last day interning at The Village Markets and my, what a day it was! With the sun shining, music playing and shoppers galore, the stage (or rather oval) was set for a great day. With lots of stalls to choose from, I had fun exploring through the wide range of emerging designer clothing, vintage wears, jewellery and homewares, as well as chatting with the stall holders. Here are my final five fave finds! Enjoy!

1. Seven Blueberries

One of the first stalls that caught my eye was Seven Blueberries. With its whimsical jewellery and adorable trinkets, it’s extremely easy to get lost in this stall. I absolutely love these cute-as-a-button miniature teacup necklaces! These are also much loved by TVM customers and always sell out quickly on market days. Made from porcelain and exhibiting a variety of designs and sizes, they are perfect for the tea lover (I am one myself!)

Each teacup pendent is threaded through an antique gold chain, in both long and short lengths. Reasonably priced at only $20 each, these won’t be here for long! Teacup bobby pins are also available for $15. I bought one of these and I absolutely love it! Why don’t you get the girls around for a little tea party? Seven Blueberries style!

2. Lemon Canary

It was Lemon Canary’s first time at TVM and their divine candles were certainly that! All are hand-made soy essential oil candles with cotton wicks with various scents available. From wax melts to oil burners and vintage jars, there is something for the eco-friendly candle lover.

As much as I love the candles, my fave find at Lemon Canary is actually these cute little inspiration tags. Made from ceramic, with a wide range of sayings available, there’ll be one that resonates with you! Priced on size, with small $2.95, medium $4.95 and large $7.95 respectively. These tags are also used on the vintage jars and for gift wrapping. Also, thank-you to Jasmine, the inspiration behind Lemon Canary, for kindly giving me a candle to burn as I wrote this post! It smells wonderful and is getting my creative juices flowing!

3. Lou-est

It was only her second time at TVM but Lou-est definitely looked at home amongst the TVM family. I love the range of pocket tops which are perfect for hot summer days (they are finally here, hooray!) With a range of patterns and colours, most are 100% cotton. Jess, the designer of Lou-est, designs each garment and a local dressmaker constructs them.

Known for their versatile designs and funky fabrics, Jess’s idea is to create basic designs which everyone loves but to produce them in a wide range of colours and patterns. She wants her customers have a variety to choose from and from what I saw, they certainly do! I love this idea and as I couldn’t choose just one pattern, I have chosen the entire range as one of my five fave finds. At an affordable $35 each, you are sure to find one for you!

4. Lilac Skin

It’s extremely hard to miss Lilac Skin’s stall! With the colour, brightness and gorgeous items, I always feel instantly attracted and happy. I was keen to see the new kimono’s which were making their debut at TVM and they certainly didn’t disappoint! Made from an authentic vintage traditional kimono pattern, it has been completely unchanged except for the fabric used.

The new range of cotton kimonos come in a variety of colours and patterns and are priced at $50. They can be worn like a traditional kimono as they also come with a tie belt. If you like to be a little more subtle with your style, the kimono can be dressed down as a jacket or can even be worn around the house as a robe. The possibilities are endless!

5. Long Way Home

If you’re looking to hop on the colour blocking bandwagon but don’t want to go too over the top, then this tie-up crop if perfect for you! This particular piece is priced at $30. Made from a sheer lightweight polyester and exhibiting a sweet front pocket, it is part of the new spring/summer range. It is ideal for throwing on over your bikinis or whilst having a bit of shop (at TVM of course!)

With recreated vintage pieces and unique hand-made creations, Long Way Home has a variety of cute clothes ranging from dresses and skirts to shorts and tops. Each item is a one-off which means that you will be wearing a completely unique design. There is a distinctive summer holiday feel about the clothing, which does make me feel like I’m a Long Way Home!
